About friends of beethoven
Our organization, Friends of Beethoven, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up solely of parent volunteers. Our primary mission is to raise funds to support our public-school students, teachers and staff at Beethoven Street Elementary School, and provide opportunities to enhance their educational experience.
We aim to build a strong community at Beethoven Elementary where our students, staff, and families feel supported and appreciated. Be part of the magic—get involved and help our amazing school community shine even brighter!
OUR PROGRESS THIS YEAR
GIVE A BEAR GIFT
For Friends of Beethoven’s 2025-26 fundraising campaign, which includes the Bear Gift Program, we’ve raised $54,361 thus far as of January 2026. That’s just 40% of the $135,000 we need for next school year.
Your support, of any amount, helps our students grow.
While many neighboring schools have a recommended annual donation of $1,500 per student, Beethoven Elementary focuses on participation over amount.
Our goal is simple: We hope every family will take part in the Bear Gift Program—at any level that feels right for them.

Interested in getting involved as a parent volunteer?
There are a variety of ways to be involved in our Beethoven community—whether that be low commitment opportunities like volunteering your time at a Friends of Beethoven event for an hour or getting involved in our leadership roles like becoming a room parent or being part of our Board! There is something for everyone based on your capacity, skills, and interest!
No matter how much time you have to give, there is a place for you to volunteer and make a difference at Beethoven.

Friends of Beethoven Booster Club
We raise money to fund programs at Beethoven Elementary School that are not funded by LAUSD, such as Art, Music, Computer Lab/Tech Support, Field Trip Busses, and the Garden Classroom to name a few! We host a variety of community-building events, enrichment programs, and book fairs, and provide other school support. Every parent and guardian of a Beethoven student is a member of Friends of Beethoven!
